Butler County Fair Model Contest

Rules and Information

Age groups:

Age 9- 12

       13- 15

       16-19

       20 yrs and up

-You will be competing against your own age category.

-There are three model categories to enter. These are:

1. Cars and Trucks

         2. Planes and Spacecraft

3. Ships and Boats

-You may enter one model in each category.

-The entries will be judged by three criteria: 1. Construction -accuracy and neatness

                                                             2. Design/paint creativity

                                                            3. Paint/finish; detail and neatness

-The models must be constructed from a plastic model kit in a scale appropriate to the category.

-Paint may be applied by spray on, brush or any combination of the two. Any paint type may be used.

-The work must be done predominantly by the contestant entering the model.

  (Youth may be given guidance and instruction but the hands on work should be done by them.)

-Registration and submission of the model is to be done at the Black River Coliseum.

    3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 20^th. or 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 21^st

    Fair representatives will be present to assist in making sure the models are in the assigned area.

-Judging will begin at 10:05 a.m. Wednesday, August 20^th.. No entries may be submitted after judging begins.

   Ribbons will be awarded to the winners in each age group by category and the winners in each category will

   be further judged to determine the grand prize winner of each category with each category winner awarded a

   $25.00 gift card from Hobby World.

* Models may be picked up on Saturday, August 23^rd. from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. *
